LifeTouch Bodywork for Women
(Please note: my primary and preferred modalities are Cranial Sacral Therapy and Reflexology)
Cranial Sacral Therapy - $65
Cranial Sacral Therapy (as taught through the Colorado School of HealingArts) is patterned after and uses the same 10-step protocol as Craniosacral© Therapy, largely developed by Dr. John Upledger, D. O., of the Upledger Institute. It is a very gentle, hands-on method of bodywork that evaluates and enhances the functioning of the cerebrospinal fluid, which nourishes the brain and spinal column and, in turn, benefits the whole body. With just the lightest of touch - no more than the weight of a nickel, the therapist monitors the rhythm of the craniosacral system (cranium to sacrum) and is able to help the body self-correct, to bring the CNS into harmony. Cranial Sacral Therapy is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its potential to bolster resistance to disease. It has also proven helpful for a wide range of medical problems including Migraine Headaches, stress and tension-related problems, Chronic Fatigue, and many others. For a Cranial Sacral session, the client is asked to dress comfortably in something like sweat pants or flannel pants and tee shirt. The session will take approximately 60-75 minutes. Clients generally leave a Cranial Sacral session feeling incredibly relaxed on a deep level.
Foot Reflexology - $35
The foot is a sensory organ with some 2700 nerve endings sensing your environment through pressure, stretch and movement, often providing the first signal of how the body should respond to what it has sensed. Reflexology is based on the premise that there are certain pressure points and reflex points on the feel which correspond to all organs and tissues of the body. It is a wonderful way to help bring an entire body back toward well-being as the Reflexologist employs certain pressure and hand techniques to effect this change. The client remains fully dressed, however you are asked to wear (or change into) clothing that allows access to the feet and lower legs. A Reflexology session lasts approximately 30 minutes.
Swedish Massage - $60
Swedish Massage is a systematic massage of the soft tissues in order to produce a state of deep relaxation. It can reduce stress (a major contributor to illness and disease), relax sore or tired muscles, lower blood pressure, and has a number of other health benefits. You will be asked to undress to whatever your personal level of comfort is and will relax on a comfortable, warm massage table for the treatment. Modesty is protected at all times as the client is covered during the entire treatment, with only the area being work with exposed at any given time.
Aromatherapy - may be added to your session at no cost
Whether simply inhaled or combined with lotion or oil, Essential Oils can add greatly to your bodywork experience and to your life, in general. As a Certified Aromatherapist, I take the use of essential oils very seriously, using only oils purchased from companies that do batch testing and who are willing to provide results of those tests. Because I often do my own blending, I need to know that what the bottle says it contains, is what it actually contains...as well as safety issues/contraindications of certain oils. I believe that certain essential oils have properties that can speed our body's healing process, ease our mind's restlessness, and provide emotional support in a variety of ways.
